Jets have been given permission to talk with Favre and Tampa has contact GB about putting a trade deal together.

who said the bucs could'nt afford favre

"Gruden has a history of wanting any quarterback he thinks can play -- and he knows Favre can play. Gruden also has a history of winning with older quarterbacks (Rich Gannon, Brad Johnson and Garcia), so it's no stretch to see the coach could want Favre. It's no stretch to see Allen, who has plenty of salary-cap room, finding a way to trade for Favre or signing him to a new contract if the Packers were to release him."

ESPN is reporting that Green Bay wants a first round draft pick included in the trade. Is it worth it?

Hell no he isn't worth it. Garcia will do just fine and the bucs don't need the circus he'll bring. Brett Farve has and will always throw that costly interception just like he did in the playoff's last year against the Giants. Stick with Garcia and get a young guy to mold and make into the future QB

from what i heard noone is going to give a 1st round pick for a 38 year old QB and a 12 million a year salary. GB has just put that up there as a starting point, im sure they will take less like a 2 and a 4 round

IMO, A good solid quarterback is all they need man.

With that being said, Favre is not the answer. We need a quarterback that can stay with us for more than 2 years. So i say stick with Jeff.

I don't want Favre here... I loved watching him play, and he is definitely a first ballot Hall of Famer-- one of the top 5 QB's of all time.

But... he is only going to play for one more year, and in that time frame, he can't learn Gruden's offense.

So, hopefully the Bucs aren't dumb enough to bring him here.

I can't believe how bad they are dissing Garcia... it makes me have no respect for Bruce Allen, Gruden or the Glaziers.

If he comes here it's cool... if not then I have faith in our QBs we already have.

Sorry to knock holes in your post... but here I go.

Many NFL sources around the league have stated that Favre can learn Gruden's offense in 4-6 weeks. Don't forget that Gruden's offense is just a modification and evolution of Holmgren's offense.

Allen, Gruden, and the Glazers have already addressed that they are happy with Garcia and haven't even talked to Favre directly. Watch their press conferences instead of coming up with something out of thin air. It's really has all been just media speculation and hype all along.

But isn't there some kind of dispute with Garcia insofar as his contract. He was trying to hold out for an extension or something? One report I read said there was tension in that relationship, with Garcia and the Bucs that is.

I really don't know what's best for the team. I haven't been impressed with the choices Gruden and Allen have made thus far but they were hired because someone had faith in them. They've obviously done some good things in their career. Just not here yet.

From what I hear, The Glazer boys are running the show because their Father is ill. Guess we'll see when it's all said and done.
