You have to realize that the Bucs have never been able to over come being 7 or more points down in the 4th qtr. under Gruden. Brett Favre has made a name for himself with his 4th qtr. comebacks. Favre is an instant upgrade over Garcia. Though he's not as mobile, every other aspect of his game is on point. Favre played under Mike Holmgren, Gruden was WR coach under Holmgren at the same time. Gruden's version of the west coast offense is a variation of that particular offense. Look what this team has done with Brad Johnson, Brian Griese. Gruden has a track record for reviving veteran QB's careers. For proof look no further than Rich Gannon. With Favre on this team we are an instant superbowl contender no matter which way you slice it.

I'm not against Farve playing here, but....I think this may be the year Garcia makes it happen. We were close last year, and now he has more experience.... I'm still on the fence.

I thought he did excellent last year considering that our team was usually HALF the size of the other teams usually. Why did the Bucs look so small all the time?

but would still like someone else. Favre would be shunned really bad i believe..Most of america knows him and see him in green and yellow.

the only small side of the ball for us is the defensive side. the offense has pretty good sized players on it. our o line was pretty beefy last year, garcia is a runt, earnest graham has decent size, then galloway and clayton are both good size too.

This article was an interesting read:

Quote:
While Favre clearly prefers to play for the Minnesota Vikings, the logical trade partner appears to be the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Bucs coach Jon Gruden once served as Favre's position coach in Green Bay, and the Bucs have embraced veteran quarterbacks.

The Bucs also have had a contract impasse with 38-year-old Jeff Garcia, who plans to report to training camp, but only after missing a day or two to attend a reunion event with his father. The Bucs say it is an excused absence, but the relationship is strained.

Alot of teams like size on defense. Monty Kiffen loves speed. You can't be both realistically.

I believe we had one of the biggest offensive lines last year though.

close to what? didnt even make it out of the 1st round of the playoffs. Garcia has only a couple wins in the playoffs in his entire career.

Making it to the playoffs was good. How many other teams didn't even make it that far?

^ The sole reason, Dungy was fired. He couldn't get it done in the playoffs. Despite having a winning record, if you can't win in January then you've got problems.
