the civil war wasnt fought over keeping slavery it was protecting states rights in general (wich slavery falls under) that they fought to protect along with a dozen other things. Its stupid people that conect themselves to the flag that are racist that messes it up.

if you think about it, the north's flag has just as much following but since they won it became our national flag. It has nothing to do with winning or loosing, after the war the states DID receive more rights and such like they fought for, which i would be proud to say i died in what i believe in, even if some of them was mainly about slavery. They dont want the country back the way it was slavery is not accepted by any modern countries now.

And stop with this bullshit about slavery, every "Great Civilzation" not only had slaves, they concured inferior nations like some people claim we do. Imperialism isnt dead we are always going to have our foot in guam, pr, phillipines, and now iraq and afghanastan.
