If you know alot about computers and comp. hardware PLEASE READ!
Ok.. So one day i decided to open my case up and clean the dust off of everything and out of all the fans. as i put my video card back in. My heatsync back over my processor an jus basically put everything back together. I went to turn on the computer and everything boots fine and the HDD will spin up but there is no picture! the monitor just isnt recieving any signal at all... At first i thought i was the motherboard or video card. so i found another motherboard around the house and tried that... it didnt work. so i went an bought a new video card. an ATI Visiontek x1300 256mb (jus something cheap but better than what i originally had) the card i was replacing was an Nvidia GeForce FX5200 128mb and the Nvidia is an AGP card and the ATI is a PCI. after hours of unplugging the cards and switching them out and trying new things i still have no display on my LCD. if there is any advice you all could give me it would be MUCH appreciated..
P.S. I have also already checked the RAM to make sure it was seated correctly and i have also tried moving the RAM and video card into multiple slots to make sure that the slot itself wasnt bad.
Thanks in advance,
Sean

This may help.. video will be up soon

Have you tried your monitor on another computer?
Seems odd that you don't get any BIOS beeps.RIP Kevin C. Gonzalez; Miss You Brother.

It's the way you have your prefs configured for the new card... My Bro helped me out on this cause my junk did the exact same thing when I upgraded my monitor and card. I'll hit him up, or you can PM him... Topher469. Tell him I sent you, he's busy and won't reply otherwise.
Sorry Bro, but I got irritated tryin to watch your vid, shut it off early for sea sickness.
Did you try to start-up in safe mode? or de-bug? try that so you can point the comp to the new card for start-up, then get into the card software to config the monitor.Last edited by Mac; 04-22-2008 at 12:14 AM.

For some reason, but it doesn't make much sense to me.
I was thinking you might need to uninstall your nvidia drivers before installing the ATI.
ESP. going from AGP to PCI.
put the nVidia back in and try to boot in safe mode possibly?
Gl and let us know what the problem was, probably something fairly simple TBH.RIP Kevin C. Gonzalez; Miss You Brother.

Can you switch between analog and digital signal on your lcd? make sure its set on analog since you are using vga.... also make sure to go into the bios and make sure its not forced to run on the onboard video

as much as i hate to say this my g/f had the almost the same setup. I'm not insulting you intelligence here but did you make sure you chip was in all the way. next when you took you heat sink off did you replace it with new thermal gel. if not its a possibility that you blew your chip when you fired it back up if so your going to need a new MB as usually when the chip blows it takes the MB with it. and of course a new processor also from looking at your MB it doesn't appear you have built on video so it maybe that your video car fried and you system doesn't support a pci based video card. iv ran into a few Intel mbs that like are like that .try replacing it with another agp card and see what happens if that doesn't work idk its a possibility your fried your processor. and yes the hd will still boot up and your PC will still turn on even if your chips fried. on another note even if the drivers were installed for a different video card all video cards are plug and play well you do need to install drivers the card would still work it would just only display the lowest possible setting which is 16 colors.

^^ rofl at least someone was paying attention in reading comprehension class! haha jk guys but yea it does the exact same thing with the AGP Nvidia card and i cant get to ANY setting because i have no display. also the BIOS Beep isnt sounding when i boot either. any other ideas?
and ^ as far as ur theory goes im prolly stuck having to jus face it and think its a failed cpu and mobo... i have honestly tried everything.. and as for the thermal paste u can see in the pic what is on there i jus added that today and put it back together. is there anything on the chip i can look at or the mobo to see visually if its ruined?
