Recent wedding v. First time flying solo
Had the pleasure of capturing the moment at some long time friends wedding. I was the main photographer and pretty nervous since I've only shot as a second shooter a couple times before. Lighting at reception was like a cave since it was built in the late 1700's but managed to get some good shots. Shot with a 7D w/ 17-55mm f/2.8 and 50D w/ 70-200mm f/2.8. Off camera lighting via two speedlites and another on camera.

Thank you for the compliments.
Jake, I know what you mean. I've been to a bunch of weddings where my friends have hired some pretty crappy photographers and I never wanted to shoot a wedding with out being confident in my gear and in my ability to adapt to the situations fast. Heck search craigslist and there's a ton of people who are crap that people are using and feel bad for them. I wouldn't be able to live with myself knowing I've messed up the special day for the new couple...unless they divorce quick than whatever lol. I've shot a couple weddings as an assistant which have helped me out a ton. I'm able to shoot and not worry about missing the important shots since I'm the backup.
I'm trying to get some more paid gigs and put the money away to reinvest in more gear. I want to get a couple of primes, some more lighting gear, and then some that I can spend on the wifey lol. I'm slowly starting to pick up some more people wanting pictures and word of mouth has helped a bunch.Proud member of the TF Daddy Crew

Yea I'd love to be able to be a second, or even third, photographer at a wedding just to see what I could come up with haha.
