Lens help
I just bought my Nikon D3000 about a month ago, and i already grew tired of the lens it came with lol
Just wondering what lens would be good for what i want , i want to be able to take really close up pictures of insects and flowers, and also be able to capture things that are far away.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Thanks in advance.

Or you could cheap out and get a older manual focus micro
Nikon Manual Focus 55 F2.8 MICRO AIS (52) WITH CAPS 35MM SLR MANUAL FOCUS STANDARD ANGLE LENS - KEH.com
Nikon Manual Focus 105 F4 MICRO AI (52) WITH CAPS 35MM SLR MANUAL FOCUS TELEPHOTO LENS - KEH.com

I will most probably be buying the nikkor 60mm f/2.8 soon, some one told me thats a good one, i just have to research a bit more
I know this thread is about lenses, but while i was searching the nikon website last night i came accross like 10 different flashes. Just wondering which one would you recommend? the pop up flash is comepletely useless at night lol

if you really want to get into macro the 105mm will give you room to light while being 1:1, the 60 you will need to be hella close to your subject

There's a guy in Orlando selling an SB800 in the box for 200 bucks right now. I was supposed to go grab it today but my plans didn't work out.
He's on craigslist.
Nikon d3 and super collection of lens
He also has the 105 macro.
Cheers!

The only problem with that 105 is the price
i am just starting off with this, so i have a budget lol eventually down the road, i will be able to get it haha
I am however very interested in the SB-900 i will be getting my tax return in a few months and i will most definitely be getting that flash lol...now i just need to decide on the lens. I have come to the conclusion that with this new hobby i picked up i have to do a lot of research lol so i guess i have to keep reading and asking questions

from that link above used: Nikkor 105mm F2.8 Macro Non VR version as new $350
that's cheap for pretty good glass
remember it's about quality not quantity
check out ken rockwell and thom hogan's websites for gobs of information
