had a chance to play with the tokina 100mm macro today, very smooth and sharp.
read up and check that one out too its like 400 new

Also keep in mind that if the lens does not say AF-S on it, it will NOT auto-focus on your camera.

I really enjoy my AF-S DX 35mm 1.8
AF-S DX NIKKOR 35mm f/1.8G from Nikon
More of a portrait lense, but great general use lense..
I would say grab a 55-200 too... Nice to have on hand..
