Tampa Rally Cross event this morning, I would have much rather been behind the wheel than behind the camera.

Unfortunately I only had an hour to shoot this morning (having a job sucks).

Awesome! It was a pleasure to meet you for sure, and the pics turned out great. You clearly spend the time to learn the craft, which makes all the difference between the mediocrity that litters most forums (and my own Pictures folder) and high quality professional quality stuff. I sometimes wish that I'd continued with photography seriously, but when you aren't really all that good, the cost of film, chemicals, paper, etc. can be insane.

And for the folks that didn't know or make it to the event, for future reference, it was posted in the Auto-X/Road Racing section. I was a great time, even if I did DNF (frag'd a tire). BTW, after looking at all those pics, I have to say that I must be freaking idiot to have run the event with my windows down.

haha yeah, I saw a couple people make that realization after the first parade lap.

I wish I could have stayed long enough to see you and the orange VW do their runs. Were there run groups or something? I just noticed that less than half the people doing the parade lap were on the track at first.

There were only 8 cars total running, so we did two sessions of 4 cars each. I think everyone made the initial parade laps, but then we split.

And don't worry about missing my runs... being my first real event on dirt, I sucked properly, was totally slow, and I frag'd a tire. Next time 'round.

I'll make a point of posting a thread in here before the next one so every body knows. I know no one ever looks in the Auto-X/Road Racing section, and there seems to be a good amount of interest.
