Bags?

I've been wanting a Canon Rebel since they were first introduced...and yesterday my lovely wife gave one to me for my birthday.

So I have the goods but now I need something to carry it. The bag has to be a backback configuration. I'd love it to be somewhat waterproof and have some bit of protection for the contents (I am an avid mountain biker and would like to bring it with me every once in a while for some interesting trail shots). Bonus if it had a little extra room to carry bike tools, snacks, etc.

I did a bit of searching and came across Kata DPS - 3N1-10 (http://www.ebags.com/kata/kata_dps_3...modelid=123568). It isn't waterproof but it does come with a nice rain cover. It also has some storage for extra goodies. On top of that it is right at $100 and comes with a lifetime warranty. Sticking point is protection for the camera itself. Kata says it is padded...but I am not so sure it is enough cush to protect the camera if I have a crash.

Has anyone had any experiences with the Kata bags?

Are there any other ones out there that you would recommend that may provide better crash protection?

i have many bags. one for every type of occasion.

Get whatever suits you and your gear the best.

Kata is a very good bag, but sometimes gear fitment is a lil tight, since it has lots of padding, to the point i would dare to say too much

I have a Lowepro bag for every day type stuff and then a MRock bag for when I want to take everything. Like Al said, it's what ever suits your needs.
