Help w/ Adobe Illustrator.
I'm trying to learn Illustrator so I can start making my logos in a vector format, I have a few that I want to remake in vector from jpg or png and wanted to know what the fasted/easiest way to do this would be.
Here is one that I'm working on right now:

I tried to do the "live trace" but it comes out looking like crap and I know I can use the pen tool to trace it but how would I make sure that each end is perfectly symmetrical? Thanks

What you can do is use the magic wand to select the design. Right click on the selected design and choose "convert to work path" from the drop down. Then File > Export > Paths to Illustrator. It will save it as an .ai file.
Hope that helps.

You do know you can turn the pixel tolerances down to zilch, right? I've used this method for quick/easy stuff with no problems and no pixelation whatsoever.

I used some shapes and the pen tool and alot of trial and error and finally made it!

Now I can export as a .dxf and cut a custom sign out of 1/8" stainless on the laser cutter at work
