Well I've always had a feeling that the photos SCP_Celica / Joe Dono was posting up were not truly his. After a bit of investigation on Flickr, I found out that he did infact steal others pictures, watermarked them with his name, and claimed them as his own.

First off, he is a thief that scammed a shop owner out of 16k dollars. He also scammed numerous others and has been arrested for fraud before.

Now back to him taking credit for others photos.. Since I've always had a feeling that he didn't take any of said pics, after seeing the countless threads about him scamming people, I decided to go back and check them out.

See the HDR image of Pier 60 in Clearwater Beach? Well I decided to search Flickr for "Clearwater Beach". Guess what the FIRST image that showed up was? You got it.. that HDR pic that he supposedly took.

This picture was infact taken by Joe Y Jiang.

I'm sure EVERY SINGLE other pic that he has posted has been stolen, and watermarked with his name. I only tried looking for that one photo, but I'm sure I could find many others if I tried.

Isn't this illegal? He cropped out the REAL Photographer name/watermark, and marked it with his name. Is this copyright infringement, or something along those lines?

I will be contacting the REAL Photographer shortly and I will send him the link to this thread. Then it's all in his hands and he can further pursue it if he would like.

I am doubting JOE DONO even has a camera at all.. He just wanted the attention, and us to praise him for his amazing HDR work.

A little more searching on Flickr resulted in me finding Joe Dono's entry for the July Contest (Hands theme). I searched "Hand" and viewed all the pics until I got to the 7th page.. Guess what I found?

But damn, I feel robbed of my pride, or whatever that means. I though he was quite good! Yeah I've seen some pictures, that I would love to say that I've taken but, never have/will I take credit for other's work. I may shoot the same exact idea but shoot it myself none-the-less. Just like I did with Kaluwa's idea of the hands. Now idk if that is copyright infringement, if so please tell me so I can be more aware.
