Yeah, if you shoot in RAW then you can change the white balance after the fact. If you shoot in JPEG, it's pretty much vital that you get the white balance correct in camera.

I can't shoot raw format, it sucks. The XSi supports the 3.3 version, I even tried to download the patch but it still won't work. Ah well.

They both shoot raw, it's just that the version of RAW was upgraded on the XSi. Aka you need CS3 to open it. I researched on google and found a patch of some sort but it did not work for me.

I think I will try the software installation disk and see how I like Canons editing software.

Why not just upgrade to CS3? It's almost identical to CS2.
