Quick photoshoot of my friends Integra

This is the first time shooting a car with this camera.. And I'm not too happy with the way they came out. The quality just that great in my opinion, and a couple of them look a bit grainy. These were shot it auto mode, and it was cloudy out. It just started to rain near the end of the shoot.

What can I do differently next time?

As far as "what I would do." IMO: I would pick a different location and lay off of the contrast a little but over-all, they look good!

shots look pretty good for the 1st time around, once you learn about shutter speed, fstops, iso, and all the fun you'll be amazed what slr's can do

what camera/lens?

yakosato - you loose photo quality in bucket and it seems to add noise

Pics look great for the first time. I like the contrast, but it's a tradeoff with detail in the blacks.

Good work here - to improve I would come off of the contrast and saturation just a bit and locate some less-busy backgrounds.

Two tips to improve quality of images hosted & reduced for TR:

1. Sharpen your image dead last, even after size reduction (remember to sharpen responsibly)

2. use Flickr instead of Photobucket, see below.

The first image is through Flickr, second is through Photobucket...

Thanks guys.. As for the location it was a spur of the moment thing. It was getting ready to rain so we just picked a spot that we were close to.

For those that asked about the camera, it's a Nikon D40x and I used my Nikkor 18-55mm lense.

I just made a Flickr account the other day but I used PB for these because I don't wanna use my "monthly limit" of upload space.. until I upgrade to a pro account.

And maybe I'm seeing things but I thought I saw some grain/noise on the pics next to the bus.. Maybe not

Flickr will let you upload 100mb a month with a free account. At 500k, that's 200 pictures... don't worry about the limit unless you try uploading full size images (don't.).
