I really enjoy vignetting. (i think I spelled that right) lightroom works wonders for that.

Nice shots julia, definitely not the norm for this forum. Thanks fox changing it up a bit.

I think I like #1 the best, something about it really draws me in. All of them seem to have the film effect because there's not a lot of shadow detail. Usually that bugs me, but I don't mind it in any of your shots here.

When I said shadows, I'm not necessarily referring to the parts where the sun isn't shining, I'm referring to the darker areas of your photos. For example, look at #5. There is no detail in the hat, normally if I looked at the hat I'd see the line where it went from the brim to the top portion of the hat. There's also not really a distinct line between the hat and the guy's hair. Normally this is because a) your exposure is off or b) you've adjusted the levels and blown the shadows. In this case, while not technically perfect exposure - it doesn't matter because it's creative and has purpose.

Make sense?

ahhhh I see what youre saying. nice. I can see how that would also make the picture look bad. I think that had a lot to do with the way I edited the picture too though. I dimmed it down some.

Yep, I'd bet it did. When you say you dimmed it down, how did you do that?

well for lack of knowing the terms. I just played around with light room. I dont even bother trying to do colors on photoshop anymore.

Have you ever used the program? I wish I could tell you the actual things on it I used but I just play around and do everything at extremes to see what it really does at first then tone it back down to what looks good.

but the vignetting has alot to do with it.

No, I don't use lightroom, I use photoshop. I'm guessing you adjusted the levels, that will kill the shadows/highlights if you're not careful.

Either way, pics look good. Very different.
