my dog ate my camera...
and i had to buy another. i HAD a sony cybershot 7.2. it did just fine for what it was. well, i really didn't upgrade a whole lot. i got a fujifilm finepix 8.2. the difference was absolutely amazing.
here's some info on the camera.
FUJIFILM - FinePix 8.2MP Digital Camera - Black - F480
and here's a few shots i took just screwing around with it a bit tonight.

this one didn't really turn out that good, but i still like it.

and one of the main features of this camera that set it apart from the sony... you can set it to keep the shutter open for up to three seconds.
91 ranger, 88 tc 2.3 turbo, stroked, bored, 5.5" crower connecting rods, wiseco 8.0:1 dished pistons, total seal .030 rings, fully ported iron big valve head, racer walsh turbo roller cam, bobs log, holset wh1c, fmic, full 3" exhaust. not really a whole lot left to do.

Very nice. Fuji has done some interesting things as a camera maker, and I think my next dSLR may be a Fuji.
For those that don't know, Fuji doesn't make their own SLR camera bodies. They rebrand Nikon units and change the sensor (and a couple of other small things). The fuji sensor has two photosites for every pixel (instead of the traditional one photosite per pixel). The second photosite is smaller and less sensitive, however it picks up detail in highlights that would normally be lost (overexposed, all white). Te result is an image that has a level of dynamic range that wasn't possible before.
For everyone that doesn't understand what I just said, you can think of it like this: it's almost like the cameras (S5 pro, S3 pro, etc) are putting out an HDR image every time you take a shot. It's not as drasitic as the effect you get when combining a number of images into an HDR image, but it's almost the same idea.
Anyway, nice camera. Being able to leave the shutter open for three seconds will lead to more creative options. Have fun with it... and post some more pics.
