There's lots of good stuff here... those are some really good pictures that you have taken and yes, I know you can do a ton in Photoshop, but if you take good pictures, you don't have to, for example you asked about clarity. PS can help enhance this, but a better photo would eliminate this need. I guess I'm old school and don't like to "brush-over" an entire image and spend hours on the PC when I could put a little extra effort into taking a better shot that will only require minimal editing at the most. I'm not trying to burst your bubble or anything like that and I agree with most of what has been said, just adding my two cents... Also, I highly recommend Lightroom for when/if you get to the point that a basic edit/crop/resize is all that is needed it's a professional level program with beginner user-ability.

Even if you get the picture perfect, you're probably going to want to sharpen it.
