The drums one is def. better, good job on that one.
Little thing to fix, add some black and white (with the properties of the layer set to like overlay or softlight) of the brush you have with the brown on the right (yes I see it =]). It'll add more depth to the image if you can place it right and can understand the concept. 2nd one = +1. |

The brush on the right is a very sad attempt to hide part of the amps. I'll give what you said a shot tomorrow evening after work. Man I kinda figured this would be like riding a bike but I guess I've forgotten quite a bit. lol
