first of all you must have a good sturdy tripod. the slightest movement and your shot is FUBAR.
yesterday i was shooting with anywhere from a 8-2 second shutter speed. my ISO was set to 200, and my white balance was set to Shade. shooting these kind of shots in the sun light really doesnt work to well. so your best bety it to shoot early in the AM, or late in the pm, and or cloudy day. since your shutter will be open for so long, you need to make sure your apiture is really small. i was shooting mainly with a 4-5 second shutter speed and depending on how zoomed in i was 22-36. the photography thread on nasioc is full of professinal guys with lots of advice.
