so i started on a project
ya so since my car is down till i get a tranny, and the only part of my paint is messed up i decided to start on a two tone. yes i'm doing a rattle can job but i have taken my time with every step so far and making sure i'm doing the best that i can. i've only got the first coat of primer down, but it took me forever to sand shit down, on account of me not having a power sander lol. taping also took a good amount of time.
p.s. before anyone says something. it's not a "traditional" two tone and i know alot of people hate on newer two tones. but talons came stock with this type of two tone and thats what i'm going for. The only thing i'm modifing is that i'm extended it all the way down the hatch. I haven't down the hood tho cause i'm gonna wait until i get another one.
by no means am i claiming to be an awesome painter or anything but i am trying on this paint job, figured i'd share
and sorry for the huge pictures, their from my phone and didn't know they'd upload this large. the next uploads will be resized before hand.

not to mess with you buddy but for all that time you are putting in to it you should have bought a single stage auto paint and would only have spent about a hundred to hundred fifty dollars more. even still if I had known you were about to do this then I would have gave you some paint that I am about to throw out to clean some house of some left over jobs, if it does not turn out the way you wanted then let me know and I will hold on to some for you.
Good luck, you are putting some real time and work into it just going about it with the wrong materials.

ya i know man. but there's nothing really to do on my car until i pick up a tranny. and in all honesty for 20 bucks i'll have an awesome idea if i like the concept and the may be willing to pay someone to do it the right way since i don't have the tools ya know lol.
and no offense taken dude. i know theres alot of people that do a DIY paint job ALOT worse then me

i understand what you guys are saying. i should have just saved the money up and had someone do it right. honestly i could have done it myself if i could have gotten the car to inverness. i just don't have the tools down here lol. but like i said. for 20 bucks, i know i'm gonna get what i pay for, but i'm atleast trying to do it the right way. just like pure said tho, i'm doing it with the wrong material lmao. but i am trying.
i have about 2, maybe 3 coats of black to do, so maybe another 6 bucks and then 2 coats of clear which i already have. hopefully it'll be done by the end of this coming up weekend. if not, it's ok cause the car isn't going anywhere lol
i'll have updated pictures probably around tues or weds once another coat or two is on and it really starts coming together. hopefully with me taking my time and trying to do it the right way and not rushing the paint, the end result will be something all you painters wont rag on me for

and even if you guys don't like how i'm painting the car. i atleast think i did a decent job on filling in the holes of my spoiler. keep in mind i have NEVER done any sort of bodywork and aside from painting my rims, i'm never really painted anything. atleast not with taking my time to prep, sand, and follow through with proper coats and wetsanding.

hey man more power to you. With the down time you have, I would have done the roll on paint job.

haha this is badass.
but on a serious note, that krylon black gloss is serious shit, Dont clear coat it. if you get enough coats on it evenly and somewht quickly itll have a badass gleem to it. no need for the clear. i used the same paint with no primer on my car and it turned out flawless, and i bumped a few times when reinstalling my motor and it never even scratched.
i fucked up one time on something else using that same paint, put a clear coat on it and it turned out REALLY bad. looked like ass and even changed the shade of black.
here is a pic of what i painted using the same paint, no primer or clear. its kind of a shitty pic. trust me it shined really nice without the clear. (everything black except for the oil cooler. that was dei high heat flat black)
