Flat or matte

Dont think so much about it--just do it. The flat or satin will be fine. Prep and paint as if it were any other black job and be done. Its a huge truck,you wont see a little spec of dirt on it cause there is so much truck to look at.

I like your style! lol, if it screws up I'll just wait till whatever year I'm in's tax return and repaint it. haha

Wish I could have you paint it though, you seem to have painted one or 2 flat/satin cars in your time.

A couple things to remind yourself and your painter,the surface will need to be perfect or it will show every flaw,the clear cannot be wet sanded after to remove trash/orange peal or it will shine.If you get a scratch down the road,sorry no buffing it out.And if you wax the matte clear alot it will start to shine.IMO it's not a paint for a DD,for a garage queen,no problem,but for a car/truck that see's all the elements,imo,is a waste of time and money.

I wanted to do flat black on the RSX im buying next year but it will be my DD....is there a diff. if i paint it flat instead of matte? or will the paint still get messed up with the elements?

you have to remember some things about flat, it is not very washable, if you go with a light tone/color when you get dirty finger prints on the surface the stain will not really want to come off,,.......

na. sealer is not meant to be the top coat, it does not have the u.v. protectors in it like a clear coat or a single stage paint, although you can put in an additive in the paint sometimes i believe, and it is really really not cleanable, ( although a matte finish does not clean up very easy ) if you go to wash sealer you will actually be able to see a change in the color,. especially on black, it will turn almost a dark grey.

One of camaros I painted looked pretty awesome in just PPG blue sealer. Would have been cool left that way.

go paint your car into matte black, i have matte black in my ef and it looks much better than flat black IMHO- in my honest option

best bet is to wet sand and buff with a compound and then clear coat it to get rid of any kind of haze.
just dont smoke the "haze" when you are working

matte,and flatt is the same.now you have diffenert shades.for one you have gloss,semi gloss,egg shell,and last,but not lease is flat.i have done them all and this stuff does have uv protection.and i warrenty the joob for as long as you own the car.there is on such thing as a orange peel matte finish.and the trash is minmal if any,cuz it dries so quick.so if you or any one else is innterested in doing a job like this,then by all mean's do it.i had a forum on here(STREETDREADM'Z)but i have then changed the name of the shop.it's now A.R. MOTORSPORTS and we can fulfill whatever joob you have.

I thought that semi gloss and eggshell paint were only for houses, but i could be wrong, and the u.v. thing we were talking about was if you were going to paint you car with a primer, that is when there are no u.v. protectors.
