Chromabase is Duponts mid to high production system. the only one that is a production system that is higher is Chromapremier. Chromabase is a nice system, user friendly but I would recommend using there Value shade system as well if you are going to use this system as it is designed to fix the non covering problems that Dupont paints have. depending on the color of the vehicle it will give you a value shade sealer to put on under the paint. VS1-VS7. VS1 being the lightest in color and VS7 being the darkest. Like if you are painting it white you will put on VS1 if its a black metallic (or solid) or dark blue it will most likely be VS7.

I hope I have answered your questions about this product. Please stop waisting our time.

I agree with this 99%. The only thing that is not quite correct is that Nason does NOT use pearls. It uses metallics to make up for the lack of pearls. This is one of the reasons why the colors almost never match. However, if you want to do it cheap then go for it. I say use the Nason base, then use the G2 7779S clear. Or spend the extra money and buy Chromabase instead of the Nason. Personally I like Chromabase and I think the Valueshade system actually allows you to get a closer match then some other systems out there. The only downside is when you have to match someone else's repaint and you have no clue what Valueshade they used. I have had a few issues with this but overall I am happy with the results!

Nason does use some pearls just not the same that chromabase uses. You would have to carry some to make most of the colors coming on cars now a days. Most factory jobs have some sort of pearl in them thus if nason did not have ANY pearls you would not be able to get a honda B92p or a chevy 382e.

Hmmm, I'll have to ask the paint store about this. They have previously told me that there were no pearls at all in Nason.

I'm sure it may have looked like pearl but when I asked at the store today that is 90% dupont they took me in the back and showed me their nason mixing station and they have NO pearls. We pulled up a couple different colors that we knew had heavy pearl in it when in Chromabase and when the mix was pulled up in Nason it showed nothing but metallics.

If others have supposedly had pearl in Nason then those other stores must have a different set-up than the store I use.

global is a good versatile products in which you run into a little problem my be easier to correct. I personally dislike DuPont, very translucence bases. Just take your time, hit me up if you have anymore questions.

i have been painting for 13years and i have seen just about every fuckup known to painters.if you want to spend the money on ppg then run with.if your gona be beating the shit out of this car then you can use a cheaper line.i dont care how long some of these guys been painting, you cann't till what was cheap paint and whats not.i did my 1st street car with ppg and it looked like glass.i also blocked the shit out of it too,i also cut & buff it too.if you want the shit to look good your gona pay the price, now that doest mean you have to spend alot of money, just do a good job and as far as prep work and you finish work.i have one of the pretties malibu around, its black and sexy.and if i told you what kind of paint was on my car you would say i'm lying.ask 351coup he has seen the car.also this car was painted 6 years ago and its a 1979 chebby malibu.this car has some small rust now but other then that it still looks good.i'll be repainting the car some time in aug and flaming it all out.i'll have pix up of it too.i hope i was some help.remember always go with your feelings they will never let you down..
