Any body shop should be able to sand down and re-clear for you. Looking at around $200 to $250 to get it done.

or he just wants to know so he can give it a try. hes asking because he doesnt know how to do it. that doesnt mean he cant do it. anyone can follow instructions as long as he is detail oriented.....

That does NOT work on carbon as the surface material actually erodes(sp) away and must be replaced. You will be sanding the raw carbon--not good. 15 years of composites fab here, and I know how they make these parts.

Aren't they cleared after production?I understand you cant sand raw carbon fiber,but most of the aftermarket hoods/trunk lids ect today come cleared?No?I've only sanded and buffed one carbon fiber hood on a $100,000 Mustang,but I am positive it was cleared.
