Looking for someone to paint my car

Hi there,

I am new to the site... And I'm looking for someone who paints cars. Not just anyone though, I want a painter that knows what they are doing. I have a 2003 BMW M3 Convertible in Red. I'd like to have it painted a Diamond Pearl White color. I'm open to hearing some estimates on how much it would cost. I know it's a lot of work, and it's going to take some time... But please feel free to message me and give me some quotes. I'd really appreciate it. Thank you!

Rachael

hi my names james i hear you want your car painted. im a painter ive been painting about 4 years now at crown collision and ive done custom work. The question is more a less what is your limit on money because something like that you have to do all the jams and cut everything back in and thats a lot but ill tell you right now the price would be a lot lower than a dealership.

since your looking to do a full respray color change including engine bay (i hope you get the bay done as well) i would look into selling the car and purchasing one in the color you desire unless the paint on your car has gone to hell, which I doubt it being a bmw and they do use quality products from the factory.

With that said good luck sorry i can't be of more help to you

I'm with him. In order to do it right you would need to pull the windshield, all the mouldings, the bumpers, take the doors off, and pull the motor out of the engine bay. I would hope that if you have a fairly new BMW that you are not going to cheap out and just get the outside painted.

What you want is a pretty big job and with the fact that you want it a pearl in addition to a color change I would think that any reputable body shop in the Tampa area would charge somewhere around $4,500 or more to do it "Right."

Thank you all for responding to my post. I realize that getting a white one would be more affordable then changing the paint on my red car to pearl white, but it would also be a big headache to have to sell my car again and find a white one. I just bought my car, and if I had to go through the process again... I'd rather save myself the stress and just pay to have someone paint it. The reason why I purchased the car was because I got it for a great deal... But either way, the BMW factory (Alpine White) is not the color I want. I'm looking more for a diamond pearl white color. And $4,500 isn't too bad actually. I took my car to one place and they quoted me $7,000... So $4,500 is okay. I don't think I'd want to spend anymore than that though. Any suggestions????

4500.00 is cheap for some one to do the r+i of the doors, motor, etc....good luck with your paint job. I wouldn't mind doing this job but don't want to pull the motor and all. Good luck finding your painter. Please post some pics if you find the person for the job.
