I sprayed a BMW 325is with this paint, the championship white...It didn't come out half bad, but the clear coat was a little dull. If you do use the dupli-color, don't use any other additives to the paint. Just pour it in the gun and go with it.

its laquor paint... STAY AWAY FROM LAQUOR lol use urithane. If you are really really set on using cheap paint then I would just go on ebay and find a base coat clear coat system that is urithane and it will turn out much better.

I sprayed My Pontiac Firebird with Duplicolor Mirage Magenta/Gold. It took six coats to get the color changing effect, but the Lacquer Paint has faded and peeled after four years. Lacquer comes off if gasoline is spilled around the fuel door, this paint does not stick well to Rubber or Fiberglass body parts. Dupli-Color claims this paint is for small projects or touch up work only. My cost was $348 in paint, but now 4 years later, I cannot find the same color locally or warehouse direct to make repairs to the paint and match a replaced fender from a minor accident. I will have the repaint the entire car again.

Duplicolor claims using a Non Lacquer clear coat will solve this problem. Not True, of the other products I attempted to use over the Lacquer, it quickly melted and ruined the primer coat, base coat, and color coat down to the metal as if a stripping agent had been used.

The original paint job looked great, but did not hold up to daily driving and weather changes. The DupliColor Metal Crome Paint I used on Engine Parts, so far after 3 years of Driving and Engine Heat, it has been excellent. But, for the color to be proper, it has to be applied directly to bare metal. Completely cleaned without any grease or rust. It will not stick to non-metal surfaces, but is great for most engine parts that do not generate high heat conditions.

Apparently due to the $20 per 15oz kit price, it does not sell often in the auto parts stores. Many of them in my area have stopped carrying it.
