Fender Rolling Question...

Which is the cheapest way to roll some fenders? I've heard using a bat with tape and a hammer but i don't wanna crack the paint. So if you have any ideas please lmk. Thanks

theres always a risk of cracking the paint, you can buy the fender roller from eastwood but thats like 300 and bolts on like a tire, or you can do what i do and use a bat. lol

Ya i thought about cutting slits in the lip and then heating the paint with a heat gun and then bending them in with a hammer or whatever... But i figure the heatgun will help prevent the paint from cracking...

the heat gun will damage/blister the paint before it does any good helping you roll the fenders, and if u cut the slits and try to hammer it up you may end up damaging the fender and lip all together with chips and dings, hammer slips.... ask me how i know lol. Best bet is the bat, and use the tire as the Fulcrum, or find someone that has a fender roller and pay them lol

I have the magic eastwood tool. I rent it out for $50 for 3 days, with a $300 deposit. Or, we charge $35 a fender to do it for you.

Depending on the age and condition of the paint, and how far you want to roll it, it may or may not crack. We find that gentle heat with a heat gun helps. When it does crack, it is usually on the edge (where the roll starts under), and is not very noticable. A dab of super glue will keep it from spreading.

In my experience, I've found that a small paint brush and spray can clear can be excellent for this purpose. Super glue works, but it can leave a white haze around where it was applied.

best bet is to ren the tool i did on my old civic and it turned out great...cracked on two fenders and then the other two went awesome after i figured it out on how to do it

Use a cheap wooden Baseball Bat and slip it between the tire and fender.
Have someone get in the car and SLOWLY drive forward while you allow the bat to roll with the tire and push up on the lip of the fender...then do the same maneuver in reverse, Then forward again.......etc. until the inner fender is where you want it.
I did this on an Integra and a Corolla, Worked Great with no cracking of paint or denting of the fender.

Using a heat gun will blister the paint or if your lucky...just darken the clear coat, So I don't recommend trying it unless you really know what your doing.

OR............

Just get a hold of Toby at T&J and pay the $35 a side and be done with it.
