Black magic makes somethign espically for this, works wonders, not sure of the name, i jsut wash it with soap/water keeping the elextrical areas as dry as possilbe, and spray tire wet under there, but since i have a cowl hood it sucks dirt in and it jsut sticks to the tire wet after a few days, armor all also works.

Here's what I do -
Use a form of degreaser, Simple Green, Grease Lighting, etc. Soak the engine bay down, leave it for a few minutes, then scrub the heavily soiled sections down. Once you get done with that, wash off with water. I normally do this with the engine running to let it heat up. After the engine gets up to operating temperature, spray a form of dressing, especially on the rubber and plastic parts, 2001, Armarol (SP), etc. Close the hood, let it cook, open it in like 10~20 minutes, and you will see an amazing difference. |
