Sanding and Paint ? Pics

OK sorry to start a new thread , but some things have changed since last ..The kit was far from being a perfect fit . Allot of cutting had to be done for the fit . Plus rivets were used to help hold the kit in place while the adhesive was drying . Well I noticed allot of imperfections in the kit ..A few cracks and pin holes ..Plus the pinholes from the rivets. What Im looking to have done is fill the holes and sand the out. Plus prepped for paint the kit is mounted to the car and its not coming off . It was glued on and screwed plus sealed to prevent leakage. Here are some pics just to have an Idea of what you would be working on. I'm looking for prices now as I would like to have a close figure on what to come up with . I'm not asking for show quality , but I would like for it to look clean. Would it be easier and cheaper just to repain the whole car the same color as it is now or would it be easier to just tape off everything but the kit and do it that way ..also if i was to have the kit moled on would that run alot more and cause the car to have to be completelty repainted ?

i molded my kit on my integra when i had it, i wouldnt recommend it. that car already looks low, but say you hit a speedbump or pull into a low parking lot, it will cause pressure on the mold and will crack it. so instead of having to re-fiberglass then fix the bumper, youd have to re-mold, and paint both the bumper and fender. mine was screwed, 2 layers of bondo, and 3 layers of fiberglass and was VERY strong, and it tore like no other. just my advice

You should have had it painted before being attached, that is going to make it alot harder to repair and paint, and ensure enough coverage on the color and clear on these parts, unless you know someone with a Lift inside there paint booth.

I would not mold it because of the cracking issue, fiberglass and metal were not ment to be attached together, i dont care what anyone says, it will crack, weather it be time, speed bump, or the repeatedness of shutting your door, ESP if its a daily driver, and yes then 90% of the car would need to be painted.

Any cracks or holes larger than a few milimeters really need to be re-fiberglassed, or else can/will crack again if only filled with bondo

In all i hate Fiberglass kits because of the imperfections, and Mold quality (for instance thats why ur front bumper and fender dont fit), I would personally reccomend only Urethane kits made specifically for your car, painted BEFORE being installed, and not molded.

One question, what kinda "adhesive" did you use on this?
