Neato skyrine grille repair!!
Let me start by saying this is more for novices and will be a stupid waste of time to you guru's...I'm getting my brakes done on the daily and I want to kill some time as well lol (I'm capable, but too lazy to work on my truck)
I'm on my phone so excuse if paragraph spacing is wrong. I'll be saving/updating/editing for the next hour or so till it's done for the same reason.
So a friend wanted to build an s13 and we got him a clip. The grille was busted as fuhh. I decided to play around and fix it. Enjoy.
I didn't take close up pictures of the damage but as you can see, it's broken into 3 pieces haha

I put it all together (minus the Japanese zip ties holding it at first) to see where the plastic wasn't getting contact.

I hit it with a sturdy sand paper to eliminate blemishes (you can go through an assortment lower to higher to achieve best results) I could give a fuck so I used one super low grit.

Spot he drilled out for zip ties, sand these spots till all orig paint is at least scuffed. (broken mounting plastic pictured)

Then after it's all sanded you hit it with the primer of your choice.. I used this bc it was here lol

You can re sand with high grit if uneven. Again, fuh dat
Prep is everything. Take your time, 8-12 inches or so, nice even coats. I start with a pepper coat.
(primer still) let dry.

This metallic base coat makes it look much cleaner when finished, I hit 1 even coat.

All 3 sanded then primed and base metallic'ed up

Let it all dry, do them in a rotation so it's quick. Spray paint of your choice. I put one layer of clear between the first and second coat (letting all paint dry in between, the lighting makes it splotchy looking I'll post an outside shot later)

Spray a few thin layers of clear to make her look good. (still wet)

Now where the grill is damaged (plastic that broke) sand down all the edges a little. Plastic-weld is really easy to work with and cures fast so don't be intimidated. Test fit it and start lathering on the plastic weld on and around all cracks. Hold until sturdy.
Bang (still wet)

Pm me any negative criticism so I can gladly ignore it in private, thank you. I can post more pictures of the complete job now that it's dry if anyone actually cares.
Oh yeah, it's for sale.
Dry pictures I promised.
