87redz13 bought the car knowing that mini never put the title in his name.
87, if you know how to get in touch w/ the original owner on the title, do so because technically he/she still owns the car. If that person lives locally, arrange to meet up w/ them at the DMV whenever it's convenient for the both of yous and the DMV will be able to fix the problem right then and there. Just make sure that you bring money w/ you to pay for the title transfer.
Same scenario happened w/ me when I bought my coupe except that there were 2 people in between me the actual owner. Person A sold it to person B. B signed the buyers spot and never registered but yet sold the car to person C. C couldn't do shit w/ a car he couldn't register, (why the stupid fuck bought it in the first place, who knows) so he sold it to me. I new what I was getting into so I took the gamble and it fortunately worked out for me. Sorry for blabbering.
But yea, if mini doesn't want to help w/ the problem at hand, try to get in touch w/ the person who's name is on the title. If any problems occur, he me up, I'll help you outLast edited by KRUKED; 12-16-2011 at 08:39 PM.
You know, somebody actually complimented me on my driving today. They left a little note on the windshield, it said 'Parking Fine.'

The car was bought as a unfinished sr swap car, the motor was put into 87's car and the coupe was just part of the deal. The title was supposed to be transferred into minis name and returned. Then he just wanted the old owner to apply for a list title, neither cooperate. Mini, here's the deal. YOU had possession of the car, YOU sold it, YOUR name is on the buyer line. It isn't "out of your hands" it was your car reguardless of who's name the title is in. YOU fix it or your name will be run into the ground. This won't be left uncorrected

I agree w/87 and brian, buttttt....
Just strip the hell outta it, cut the rad support out, remove windshield, lines, tank, everything, and then cut it in half, and take each piece up at a diff time. That is if you wanna max the potential cash outta this thing w/out dealing w/asshats or not making it into a "track car" or w/e.
GL either way dude.-Julien
