This seems a bit high!?!
This is an estimate for my car given to me by my mothers mechanic. I think its a ridiculous price but i figured I'd check with you guys to see what you think. Is it reasonable or ridiculous? Mind you this is just the estimate I haven't let him touch the car without my full approval.

basically you could spend half that on tools and parts and give up a weekend. Im guessing this guy thinks your mom is paying so hes willing to rebuild everything and make some money. More than likely the problem your looking to fix doesn't relate to everything listed. Theres even a chance that after all that he still wouldn't have fixed either problem.
If she is paying though, I personally would let it happen and thank my mommy dearly for future proofing my car.Pollo is the best admin there ever was ever

If you know how to use a wrench and a whatever else, you can do the majority of this yourself. In all due actuality, the price is ridiculous.
You know, somebody actually complimented me on my driving today. They left a little note on the windshield, it said 'Parking Fine.'

No my mother's not paying I am. I work full time plus I'm a full time student I don't have time to fix the car myself anymore. I thought the price is a little much. So my options are to either sell it, fix it, or part it out? With all its problems which would bring the highest dollar? I appreciate all the help guys

I'd rather not post it because it is actually my mother's mechanic and I don't need no ethugs flaming the shop because of me posting this on this website.

Not to be too harsh but your mom is probably getting raped there if he's trying to tape you like that.

So you'd rather not post it because this guy is ripping your mother off, and trying to rip you off? Ok....
$78.00 SHOCK &/OR STRUT ASSEMBLY - R&I OR R&R M
$124.80 SHOCK &/OR STRUT ASSEMBLY - R&I OR R&R M

$93.60 CONTROL ARM - R&R M
^requires removal of two more nuts and one bolt
$117.00 STRUT ROD &/OR BUSHING - R&R M

and the BG induction cleaning is charged twice at different prices. you really need to show your mom somewhere else to take her car. really anywhere would be better... they should know better on a 20 year old car.. wow

i thought this was actually a joke. I was reading though it waiting for the punch line.
can't believe anyone would think those were anywhere near reasonable prices. That place must make bank. Gotta have one hell of a saleman to not only get people to agree to getting raped, but to be so happy about it, they come back for more.

I really want to know the shops name so I can take my car to them, have them point out what is and might be wrong/bad, give me a quote just so I can tell them to stick their impact gun up their yahoo so I can watch. Better yet, I might have my wife take my car up there. She'll have a field day w/ that one. She will probably know more shit then them about my car.
You know, somebody actually complimented me on my driving today. They left a little note on the windshield, it said 'Parking Fine.'
