Man, that sucks, I talked to casey and the fellas a few years back when i bought a swap from them when I still had my first hatch. That was at the old location though, I miss driving by there and seeing all the sexehness out front : (

unreal....I can't believe things have come to a end for the shop . I'm very greatful for some great times i've had and I consider some of those moments to be some of my better times. I have been a loyal friend to Casey and the shop since day one and they have given me more than I could every repay. I wish that in some way I could help the shop remain open but I'm sure that Casey knows whats best for his family and future.
I've met some really awesome people through the shop over the years and I watched alot of them leave and venture out only to return to the shop.
I watched them return with abilities and skills that are second to none and acheive a level of work that has propelled the shop's image 100 fold.
They built my car beyond what I dreamed was possible and more that what I payed for.... and put up with my crazy bullshit for many years..
They deserve no less then our highest respect for the "trail " they made
for the rest to follow..
I would like to commit to Casey to call on me when ever he feals I can help and I hope the guy's at the shop only prosper from this...

I normally agree with you but this time... not so much...
A good car isn't cheap and a cheap car isn't good....
I was there from the very start of them selling cars.... I'm sure you could debate the retail of a certain car but overall Casey has always had a grip on their "fair market values " and never tried to "get over " on a client.
Yes ,some cars weren't cheap but they weren't cheap cars either..
I think Casey tried to be very selective on the quality and calibers of cars he sold and that reflects with the idea his cars were expensive.
There has been situations , purchases , rumors, negative comments and or issues that project a sinister shop image. I don't deny ,that I have been aware of complaints that were very valid and just plain fuckedup where the shop was entirely at fault... I hope Casey was able to remedy most of these issues and some were just lost ... It happens.
Some things are unforeseen and it's the response that weighs in .

He tried to be part of something he loved and to put his stamp on a lifestyle he hoped wouldn't die... proof ?
Why would he :
a) charge so little on swaps and work compared to other local shops?
high statis mechanics performing or over seeing production..
b) on hand- highend -to- lowend=
new/used OEM parts, aftermarket parts for several models , local ,
ready to go.
c)dyno
d) piant/body
e) partnerships with in all areas of our market
f) events .... ect...
I would like to know of any shops that can say that and existed for the length XAT did... Name them.....

suppliers,shops tuners, magazines ect.
I have attended many venues in several states and
met people that has since become legends.in the industry.
During the last 18yrs. , I've earned the postion to validate my comments.

Casey should get credit for what he has brought to our community and proof is how the other shops followed his methods and services.
I know I look like a "mark" but I feel the need to convey what I beleive and I have the structure to voice it from..
Forget the drama and remember them as local legends... I'm done being gay for XAT but you get my point...
I hope some investor will take advantage of these employerless badass mechanics and fill the niche left behind. I hope the other shops scoop these dudes up ,lose their dead weight monkeys.You will Improve and prosper with some investment toward yourself....
Or they'll start selling houses or ford parts....

ya ok. we went out of buisness cause people work on there own cars, thats an awesome reason. most of our work is fixing other peoples mistakes.

No what Drifting does that to shops...
Drifters dont spend money like others do.
Drifters buy 2 wheels instead of 4 most the time
drifters dont buy body kits
no paint, just sport dented mis-matched body panels
Don't really spend alot of money for high HP
and like you say the DIY, most drifters are that as well as Enjuku... DUH !

only return business is for tires LOL

cause driftars dont need tie rods, coilovers, sway bars, parts they fuck up i.e fenders/bumpers/headlights. not all driftarz have shitty cars either.

Honestly man, I couldn't have said it better. You took the words in my head and put them into text. Thanks for the support and everything you've done for us.

b16-eg your right.... our business went from doing 10 swaps a month to doing 2 swaps a month, and fixing 20 home made swaps. half the people who walked in the door just had questions, how do i install a CAS, what spark plugs should i run, my fuel gauge is on E and it wont start, what could that be? lol man there were some amazingly dumb questions I wish I had written down. but i let that rest.. whats done is done, time to move on, remember the good times, and all that jazz.

As far as trying to pin point a reason or place blame on why the shop had to come to an end, there is no one thing, there is a giant list of things that contributed to the failure.

your mising the point... DIY'ers might buy "tie rods", "sway bars" and "coilovers" but its from ebay... they might buy fenders, bumpers and headlights but its from the junk yard... DIY'ers do it cheap...

most "drifters" are "DIY'ers" .... and DIY'ers are cheap = places like XAT closing...

i to like punished240 have been this import game for a very long time. some of you kiddies just made it to 2nd grade when i lowered my first import. i've seen alot of import shops open and close. there will always be someone faster that you and always be haters...
