The seal is behind the pulley. No way to put it on with it in the car. If the car has E-fans, it can be done with the motor in the car, never done it on a car with clutch fan, but I'm guessing it shouldn't be too hard. |

Front main seal if you have efans or a shit ton of clearance:
-turn motor to top dead center -pull e-brake, put car in 4th or 5th. Now the engine won't turn -remove all your belts -remove 27mm crank bolt -pray to God that your pulley remover doesn't hit your radiator -remove pulley -pry out old seal with a screwdriver -install new seal with a drift, large socket, and/or very carefully -reinstall pulley making sure that woodruff key is still in the crank and the slot is aligned -tightening the bolt presses the pulley. Final torque of 100ft-lbs or so. |

Finally wired up the cluster illumination for the gauges. Used Deutsch bag DTM connectors. Found out that one of four rear running lights was working (aka coupe tail light syndrome). Also found that one socket had been "repaired". Swapped a spare light assembly in, but still need 1 bulb. Degreased a little more under the car. Starred at the places where S13 vert reinforcing panels go....
If anyone is parting out a Vert and will let me cut it up with a sawzall, please PM me! |

How long do those things last? I need basically the entire floor pan from firewall to rear subframe. And considering that it has no roof, it probably won't stay on those stands very long.
I think I'll just wait until strips one to a shell first. |
