Its probably the fan slingning the oil everywhere. Also if you have insurance they replace your windshield free in florida.

Do me a huge favor. Tell me where this wire goes that is circled.... I need to know where it goes going, I see the wire is going towards the front, I dont need to know where its going to on the motor only where its going in the front of the car.

1. the sensor stuck inside the air filter is an air temp sensor. it's for OBD-2 diagnostics, you can technically let it hang somewhere or tuck it away/tie it up. it won't change how your engine runs. (you don't have to mess with it at all, it just looks ghetto how it is now)
2. timing chain guide. do it now. just take the 2 bolts off and throw them and the guide in the trash. be careful of the bolts when you're unscrewing them that they dont fall down the front cover...or you'll have just turned a 20 min job into a 2 hour job, or more.
3. the ac vent thing sucks. mine did the same thing. i had used looped duct tape on the backside but there is practically no tape that stays sticky for very long on the dashboard..the heat eventually loosens it and well, yeah. those pieces aren't too much, under $50 from nissan, so you can definitely get one later on. usually the trim around the radio is the one that gets cracked and broken, but the top ones do too, because people never know how to take them out.
4. that sensor on your driver's wheel well that you circled is a resistor for the automatic transmission. if you unplug it, it will cause your transmission to shift a bit harder/harsher. it's not necessarily bad, but it's not necessarily good either. i don't know why it's where it is, but the wiring for it runs to a very large harness that runs across the car, going from the large fuse/relay box under the support and it eventually travels inside the fender and inside the car near the pedals. it's kinda odd because the wire from the transmission portion is already in that big harness, but it separates out (i guess techs used it for something at some point) and the wire in the back is on a sub-harness that also includes the power steering switch, a/c switch, and the brake fluid level sensor, and it loops back into the same big harness (there is a hole up in there you can see).
car doesn't look horrible. if you get the bumper and lights taken care of, and get the dings and scratches fixed (basically repaint), and fix the window and the trim piece, it will be in decent shape.
the oil pan does not use a gasket, it is held on by RTV style silicone sealant, so they are common to be leaking, esp if that motor was one that probably sat in a junkyard somewhere til it was swapped in. it's definitely not an easy fix, as it entails taking some things off, loosening the engine mounts, lifting the motor a few inches, so the pan can slide out (the tube that sucks the oil up into the motor inside the pan is in the way and it's a major pain in the butt). i would definitely have a shop with a lift and stuff do that, but depending on how much it is leaking, you could just monitor it and top it off once in a while. depends if it leaves oil spots overnight or over a few days so that is up to you.
otherwise, good luck. if you can fix it up, you got a nice car on your hands.
also, my brother owns my old 240, and may have a bumper available soon. it's not perfect but it's mounting stuff is (i can't tell what holes on yours are ripped/busted). if he gets his new bumper mounted, ill point him in your direction if you want the used one (it's black tho).

THANK you. Yeah, the bumper would be great. Definitely do that so I can check it out. Mine's not too bad, but a lot of the stuff to mount the fog lights and turn signals is really...just...let me put this way: I ran over my turn signal the other day, and my fog lights scrape the ground every now and then.
Thanks again, you're a great help. I'm gonna get started on this stuff as soon as I can.Auto Club of Tampa, Member #2
