yeah if you just have 550cc's. even 650's. i had 780cc's, we set my gm maf-t for 650's and tuned the rest out. its just a piggy back, and will work great on a 16g setup or less. anything more, you're better off with ecmlink. you're pretty much just adding boost and fuel on stock timing. i had a big16g at 25 psi with an safc. spooled fast, and hit hard. never had a single issue.

An AFC alters the airflow table. It is tricking the ecu into think the car is getting more or less air than it really is. The Ecu then adjusts fuel as well as timing based on adjustments you make with the AFC. It does not adjust the actual fuel map.

Technically you're adding fuel buy putting bigger injectors in, and then adjusting the fuel delivery by tricking the ecu through the air flow signal.

He didnt say he was putting bigger injectors in nor do they have any bearing on what a AFC does. I`m not sure if this guy understands what a AFC does so I am making sure he does. Many think a AFC actually adjusts the fuel table and it doesnt. Under wot the car has a fuel table and timing table that uses rpm and airflow to decide how much fuel and timing to use. A AFC is manipulating the airflow signal that goes to the ecu. When you make an adjustment in the AFC it is altering the actual air flow reading the car is getting and in turn it is altering the fuel table as well as the timing table the car will use. It does not just affect fuel. You lean a car down with a afc you are also adding timing in most cases.

Have tuned many afc setups... Always tell the customer before they leave to start saving for a REAL management option. Period.

    Does it work, yes.

If you have not bought it, I recommend saving a bit more for a better system that you will not have to eventually replace anyways.

Tom, most people only use safc's when putting bigger injectors in, I think they are pointless with stock injectors.

and it is plenty of management for a 16g setup. Why spend 500+ on an engine management system for a daily driven car when a piggy back will work just fine. It all depends on the person's goals.

Because you got into cars for A reason. Why go for cheap parts? I had the black one in my 2g and I about ripped it out and ran it over. All its good for is cool factor for having sweet blue lights. Much like the nb02 sensor.

If you are asking question about a AFC, a AEM or microtec probably isn't for you at this time.
A 2g plug n play AEM is for a car with a 2g wiring harness.
