Maybe try putting your normal UICP on until you get that injector driver box?

I dont have injection wired in at the moment. the misfire is still there. no 2 injector just stops firing. I can plug in known good injector and it doesnt click. wiring problem of some sort. just doesnt make sense that the problem goes away when car is shut off for a minute. then it returns after 1-10 minutes of run time. tried a second ecu today and it made no change to problem.

yeah most likely. you have hall effect cas, swapped ecu, and if it was mpi you wouldnt have power to any of the injectors

had high hopes on the resistor pack. seems a failing one could cause same symptoms. but that didnt fix it.

Take the next step. Drive it until #2 stops firing, and then see if you're getting any power to the injector clip. If you are getting power but its not pulsing then its either CAS or break in a wire. If you're not getting power then maybe mpi relay? Ive had a similar problem before, never found the culprit...I unplugged my whole engine harness, plugged everything back in and never had the problem again...lol

you might have 2 different problems to occur this. (resistance or exposed wiring) or both combined.
electricity will follow path of least resistance. check to see if you have any exposed sections of that portion of the harness. Excessive resistance could cause this to happen. If its exposed it could ground itself to where ever its open rather than the circuit doing it job.
For the car to be working normally than shutting down its sounding like something is getting to hot and finding another way out or shutting itself down.NATT Certified

Could an injector(s) have been overloaded somehow by not using a driver box?, or would that have caused the resistor pack to go bad (which sounds like it's been checked already and is okay?) I don't know if injectors can go bad in this way, but I thought I'd just throw it out there. Good luck man.

only the 2 added injectors in I/C pipe are running without resistor. the relay can handle 32 amps constant. plus the injectors only run under boost and are super cooled with ethanol. not too worried about them failing. the problem I am having is with the main injector #2 which stops firing. the injector itself is fine.

I figured this problem out on thursday. whenever you run a 1g cam sensor with a 2g ecu it will cause the ecu to throw misfire code. the reason I didnt find it sooner was because the car ran fine without throwing a code for two years. I did think to disable the DTC but when I did I think the car stalled after a pull and the checked box was not saved to permanent memory. It misfired shortly thereafter. I reenabled the checked box and kept searching for answers. So I was basically thrown two major curve balls here. But I am back on track now after five wasted days..
finally felt boost again this morning with 70 degree intake temps. previously around 95. power band hits HARD. really impressed with the setup now.Last edited by lancerman; 01-06-2012 at 09:08 PM.

Modding on hold for a couple weeks. New plans before final tuning are for port injection. secondary rail is from VW. Primary rail new found composite.
Gonna be a little bit of work. But the improvements will be worth the effort.

So your gonna use your custom meth setup and two sets of injectors? I saw on another forum that you said you found that black composite rail in a Sonata, nice find, hope you can use the flanges and it can take the pressue, could be a nice secondary rail for cheap if it works.
