Just ordered the ECM Link speed density kit. Now I will be able to log boost and get rid of the resrictive intake with too many bends in it. Should help spool up. Hoping the switch to speed density on a factory ecu isnt to much of a pita.
Next up I need to get a wide band. Then I can start fine tuning the car and see what it can do with a stock long block/turbo and intercooler.Tom N

interested to see what you think of the speed density conversion. my car runs so well on the maf I havent been motivated to try speed density yet. will someday when I get other issues ironed out.

you have to beat the blue car first

well I want to do mine so I can finalize a nice CAI. plus it should be good for a few ponies at high airflow rates.

You can make a good CAI with or with out a MAF. It would be a little easier with out though. I agree not having the MAF will free up a litlte hp and should help spool. It will be here tomorrow but I probably wont get to switching over to it till I get back form Chicago next Sunday. You still have the NGK wideband? Thinking about getting one with that style display.

Finaly got around to taking the turbo off the car to see if it's the cause of the smoking.
The fact that the turbo has no in and out play and very minimal back and forth left me with doubts it was the turbo causing the smoke.
Well the compressor housing and turbine housing both have puddles of oil in them. So it appears it is the turbo. Guess I will be shipping it off to FP to be rebuilt.Tom N

Turbo is off and getting rebuilt with a upgraded thrust bearing. I`m 90% sure it was the cause of the car smoking.
Cleaning out the front mount and intake pipes as they have lots of oil in them while the turbos off.
Woud love to swap the stock exhaust manifold for this FP one I have sitting here but I really want to see what the car can do stock before switching to new parts which I plan to do one at a time to see what each part actualy does for the car.Tom N

Turbo is rebuilt and back on the car. Ive put about a 100 miles in it now with a few 18psi pulls. Car feels good and no longer smokes.

Finally got around to putting the heater core back in the car. Took a little while to fiqure out where the temp control cable hooked to. It was so hard to find cause it was on the bottom of the heater box. The mechanical cable makes some bends to get to it and doesnt work very well. Its rather hard to switch it over to heat. Thankfully I dont need heat very often. It was sure nice going for a ride in it today and having a/c again. Only thing left is to put a radio in it. Will try to get to that over the weekend. Then it will be completely ready to be taking on long drives with all the comforts you would want in your every day car.

Car is now rather enjoyable to drive anywhere. Heat and a/c work and now it has a radio with iphone dock and bluetooth with hand free calling through the radio via bluetooth. With the phone on the charger I can dial and make a call with the radio remote.
Now that the car is very driver friendly with all the creature comforts i want I will start adding some power. First up will probably be a water/meth injection set up and a wideband.Tom N
