slowy and I have done it a few times. is it a AWD or FWD ??? FWD's are cake, my best advice is to make sure you use proper torque specs on the flywheel and more importantly the pressure plate. your flywheel must be resurfaced. it can be a pretty involved job because the axles need to come off the tranny, which means the some of the suspension/control arm needs to come apart. it might sound like alot but if you kinda have an idea of the direction you need to go it can be done somewhat quickly, slowy and I have done it in less then 3 hours.
Also if you have the tranny off it might be a good idea to take the end cover off and tighten up the bolt on the end of the 5th gear, This might tighten up some of the play in the shifter. use RTV when re-assembling.

OP.... you can put what kind of CAR you drive in your profile information so people don't have to ask you what kind of car you drive. it would also help to get better/more detailed answers

That is very good advice. Make sure to re set the part that locks the nut on there (you can see the notched area on the nut circled in red) I learned it the hard way. I was driving my car and noticed that my shifter would move when I would take my foot off of the gas pedal. When I got home (about 25 miles later) I noticed a funny smell. I walked around the back of my car and noticed all $40 worth of my 500mile-old Royal Purple Synchromax sitting under my car.

The nut backed off and cracked that end cover (which can be a difficult part to find) and it chewed up my 5th gear synchro.

take the flywheel to a machine shop to have it resurfaced. I always use Eisele's machine shop for everthing.
