Damn, you and Black Bullet has had some bad luck i guess i forgetting Ibjamin (aaron)! and his wiring issues! but i agree with F4A22 (Eisele's Automotive Machine Shop 621-2979 ) is the place to go they are as honest as it gets and good people! i actually have a head there now! lol for the same reason well, minus the overheating!
not to get your hopes up but if thats the first time the cars overheated on you the chances of warping the head are slim but as JR and others have suggested check it anyways ! and if you need some extra help me up on here! good luck! i just realized something it rained most all day today damn! |

At the end of the day I can't be mad at the car. this is the first time since I bought it ( almost 3 years ) the car could not get me home. on top of that I finally fixed my knock under boost issues and the car was an absolute blast to drive for the 3-4 pulls i made before the head gasket went
, I'll have something to look forward to when I get it all back together.I'm still planing on running at the track day in November. Black_bullet should have his car done by then and slowy should have the new turbo on ready for a decent pass. I hope aaron will have the car ready in November I want to see that beast run. |

finally got it loose:
![]() ![]() ![]() the headgasket looked ok but there was water/oil on it so it's bad somewhere. the cylinder wallls are in great shape. what is all the flaky stuff on the pistons? the red stuff is rtv but there are flakes. I can just blow it off, looks like maybe sediments from the water it was burning. |

Picked up the head today. im taking no chances and had the head surfaced. Eisele's did a great job at cleaning it up to.
![]() The head had been cleaned pretty good so I removed the caps on the cams and re-oiled them. Here the head lay back at home on the block. ![]() now the tedious task of putting it all back together. |

The flakes are built up carbon deposits over time. You probably had some build up on your exhaust valves but it was black.I'm guessing your gasket went between cylinder 3 and 4 and its a tiny hole that grew.Ive been in your situation before but it was due to overboosting and running lean also. |
