fuck it I don't care enough...power adder/forced induction its all the same

BUT...if its considered forced induction why do people say "its N/A spray"

I never hear people say "its a blown N/A Cobra"

Sorry for off topic but I just thought about it

Its becuase its standard terminology. If you say its forced induction, people automatically think of boost. so when you say N/A it gets the point accross, anything aside from basic fuel needs that is forced into an engine aka not pulled in through vaccume is a form of forced induction.

It really isn't a big deal and not worth your time to even worry about it, its just something I put out there... forget I mentioned it

Nitrous is pulled in through vacuum just like the fuel is.

Then why does the bottle need to be so pressurized?

same reason your fuel system is pressurized.
The higher the bottle pressure the more nitrous gets released in a set time frame. but its not the bottle pressure that is forcing it in the cylinders.
When you squirt nitrous into your intake it is vacuum that ingests it into each cylinder.

I don't think you're seeing anything higher than atmospheric pressure in the combustion chamber when you run nitrous, so its not really forced induction.

i dunno. i think it can be argued back and forth all day and just plain isnt worth doing so.
you can say its a power adder in the aspect that the engine isnt running off of the air it is able to suck through the intake manifold alone. now forced induction vs n/a. the correct term would be naturally aspirated because naturally aspirated merely refers to what the engine is able to suck in under normal atmospheric pressure, there is nothing "forced" about nitrous. nitrous doesnt pressurize the intake system and push its way in, it is sucked in by the vacuum or airflow an engine creates.

When I use to hit up the Altima forums for some N/A performance there were guys on the boards that were runnin high 13's all motor (1G altima). Granted the KA is a 2.4, but they were making all that power from basically being chipped and cams. Of course they had full exhaust, intake, timing advance, and a bunch of other bolt ons, but main power gains from being chipped and cammed. I think it would be interesting to see someone squeeze some power outta the N/A 4g63.
