balance shaft ?
Instead of putting a bsek in can you just take the balance shaft belt off and leave them in with no belt on them?

Over on the dsmtuner boards people say its not something you want to do, but I saw people posting that they drove with no belt for at least 1000k with no problems. So from what I see, yes you CAN, but dont.

the belt is there for a reason, remove it the right way or leave it alone. its not worth removing if your not doing it the right way anyways. even then, most of the time its just a precaution, you dont have to remove it. ive always just replaced the belts with new ones when i did my timing.

You cant do that....And dont do that.
you remove the belt will throw the whole balance off in the motor. Because one of the shafts will still be turning thats on the oil pump. Removing the belt only stop one of the shafts.
You have two balance shafts to have only one working. I dunno im not gonna be the one to find out what will happen.
If all we had to do was cut the belt off why would they sell a balance shaft removal kit.

The info I got was from several posts on dsmtuner of people who HAVE drove without the belt for under 1000 miles, if you read ALL of my post the last word is DONT - (as in do not do it). So dont point your finger at me about possibly fucking up someones engine when you dont even no for sure what would happen.

dsmtuners is a joke. besides a small few of people on there, no one knows what they are doing or talking about. why does the engine only last a 1000 miles, because its breaking down until that point.

He had the shafts removed. And you get a dummy stub in place of the balance shaft on the oil pump so the oil pump gear can bolt to it.
