Rules for welcoming new users.
The more active new members that join TR, the better TR will become. I continually push being friendly to the new users to my moderators. And apparently now I must give a lecture to the boys and girls on here on how to welcome the new users.
This has not been brought on by current events, I have been preaching the same thing for ages to the moderators. Most of the new local members we get have never posted on a message forum before. They dont know what the correct thing to do or say is. And they probably just dont know how picky you are.
It is required for TampaRacing to get and keep new users. Once a new user becomes a regular posting member, then no holds barred.. lol.. But, we must keep them long enough for them to get to that point.
I have seperated out some of the guidlines by sexes.
Our guidlines:
*) [guys/girls] If you dont have anything nice to say, leave this forum and go to free-4-all.
*) [guys] If a new female member posts in here, do not publically leg hump.. Atleast try to be descreet and keep it off the board.
*) [girls] I know it's difficult to get along with other girls. So, just keep your comments to yourself.
*) [guys/girls] If someone posts pics of thier "all-show-no-go" car, atleast suggest that they remove the show and add the go. Before you freak out on them.
*) [guys/girls] All new members are good, until proven other wise. Let them open thier mouths, before you do.
*) [guys/girls] I decide who gets to stays on TR, not YOU.
That is all.. Maybe we can get some fresh new faces on here before they get run off by our welcoming commitees.

is it ok to welcome them and ask for a friendly challenge against the chevette?

well said.
there is nothing more annoying than, "got any pics?" that is no worse than 8 or 9 years ago when i was first getting online and in basic yahoo chat all we said was "a/s/l/pics? lol" not everyone who joins is single, looking, or going to be interested in the 1st person who meets them. therefore i dont read this forum much.
with that said, i will run the chevette. you better have some nos.

new rule to add:
after you have posted the "hi, im new" and answered questions/posted pics and such, dont whore around in here. there ARE other forums. welcoming someone is okay, but i check in here to say hi if i see a new post and 90% of the time, its just chit chat that could be saved for AIM or PM.

Hey amigos, new to your board. I drive a red 91 MR2-T which I'll be learning to launch on the track w/o spinning out. Anyway, anxious to meet more of you at the track this Saturday. That's me in the pic for those that don't know me.

PM Zate or another admin and ask politely. Or, you could just reregister, I don't know if they'd prefer a useless name in the database to putting out the effort to change your name.

whtas up, i'm new to tampa racing but have been around the tampa scene for 2 years now. the cops are winning! we need to get out there and cause some havoc and get some of that good ol fashion street racing done like back in the day.
