Thread: How much is my '88 Rx-7 worth?

with that logic then the 86-88 rx7 would be a s1 rx7 since it was the first of that body style. the first 13b was in a rx4 not a 86-88 rx7. 86-88 13b wasnt even the first fuel injected 13b.

if you havent been in a small plane its worst, cause your eyes and brain say we are moving and your body says oh no we are not. eyes and brain go asshole we are moving, cant you see? body says fuck you we are not moving at all. so they fight and fight and eventualy your body says, you know what fuck you brain, see if you can stop this!! then you throw up.

If you want to get Technical with body codes, a S1 would be a first gen RX-7 made from 79-80. A Series 2 RX-7 is from 81-83. A Series 3 RX-7 would be from 84-85, but we aren't talking about all RX vehicles in general or the engines they all came with. I'm going by the engine only in the 2nd Gen. Since the 2nd gen had two different 13B N/A engines.
From 86 to 88 the N/A RX-7 had a 13B-VDEI producing around 140 or 146hp. in the 89-92 they updated the engine. It had a better Engine management system iirc and they also increased the HP to around 160hp. So there were two different types of NA engines that came in that vehicle.

We want to get "technical" with body codes because they're the CORRECT body codes as listed by Mazda. Not something you made up to understand the FC better.
It was more than a better ECU that bumped the S5 from 146 to 160 hp. A better flowing MAF, Lighterweight rotors/rotating assembly, higher compression rotors, the different dynamic chamber + VDI.engine, not motor

This is the only place I've ever seen or heard 13b's reffered to in this fashion, I've always heard the motor reffered to as in coming out of which vehicle.
ie; "yeah I put a S5 NA 13b motor in in my NA S4"
You guys are free to use whatever nomenclature you want (because this America godammit!) but don't be surprised when someone asks WTF you're talking about.2011 Subaru Forester - the daily driver kid hauler
1990 Miata - track whore
1983 Porsche 911 Targa - moneypit

^ exactly. I can't stand misrepresentation of information. Then you have more idiots running around not knowing what there talking about.

Before you guys get your panties in a bunch I will use a FB Vin as an example.
JMZFB131200600001
JMZ - Means it was a Japanese Manufactured mazda car.
F - Represents the car line. F = RX-7
B - Means the generation of the vehicle. Since there is a B in this vin it means the car was made sometime between 81-85
1 - Country code.
3 = Bodystyle code. Since it shows a 3 that means it's a coupe.
1 - The engine. Since it shows a one for an FB that means it has a a 12A. If it had a 2 ,3 or a B(Which I think only Japan got the REW) it would represent which 13B engine it had. Since there were 3 different 13b's it would be either a S2, S3, or a SB engine. That's how I've always been taught.
2 = The transmission code. 2 means it's a 5SPD.
00 - Means which city it was made in. Since it shows a 00 it was made in Hiroshima.
60001 - Is the serial code for the model.
Like I said before. Ever since I was growing up I was referred to them as either being a 1 or 2. Regardless if this information was correct for the FC generation I was told it either had a S1 engine or an S2 engine which would determine the different type of 13B engines in them since both of them were different. So stop bitching about it. I never said I made it up. I said it was taught to me ever since I have been working on these engines and we're going back 15 something years.

Banzai Racing RX7 Vin ID
A 1 would be na, A 2 would be turbo.

Are you still looking to sell this? What are the compression numbers on it?
Driving definitions: Understeer is when you hit the wall with the front of the car and Oversteer is when you hit the wall with the rear of the car. Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall and Torque is how far you take the wall with you.
