Important information for new RX-7 and RX-8 owners.

Your new car is equipped with a rotary engine. Rotary engines are a marvel of modern engineering, therefor there are a few things that you need to be aware of inorder to maintain the life of your engine.

This is taken directly from mazdarotary.net's technical section.
    Technical

Regular servicing and good care of the engine (such as warming up) will help towards achieving good gas mileage. A lot of people also don't realize that a rotary engine uses oil as part of it's cooling system, therefore increasing the amount of oil consumed by the engine, people's lack of familiarity with this knowledge can lead to the motor's destruction due to overheating and a lack of oil.
Check your oil regularly, as it is the lifeblood of our cars. You will need to add oil from time to time and make sure to stay on top of regular oil changes.
