Default 2007 Roush NITEMARE F150 Upgrades by LHT

This is a limited 2007 Roush F150 NITEMARE , they made only 100 units.
It's supercharged by Roush with other goodies and called Nitemare.

It comes factory with 445 hp and 500 tq and the engine.

It's a good looking truck, 6 lug wheels and heavy duty trans etc.

It was brought to LHT for some upgrades, we have been known for Hondas for a long time but we have also been working on Import and domestics for a long time too. Power is power...It's all good.

First thing is to put it on the Dyno and see what's going on with it .We do do 3 runs back to back, It lays down average of 334whp and 383 tq, This works pretty close to 28% drivetrain loss which is normal for a truck of this kind. We notice it runs intake temps of 260F degs and runs off the scale rich. Running extra rich allows more margin for high temps and low octane fuel but not good for power. Also after looking at the exhaust we know we can make major improvments.
Here's how it looks.

The exhaust exits the cats at 2.4" and makes a tight bend and then comes together in a cast merge into a 3". It then turns into a 3.25" and runs into the muffler, there's no real split but comes out the muffler at 2.5" and goes through a maze of tight bends and exits the truck in the typical " One pipe on each side of the license plate" look. It seems every truck running around has this look, We're not a fan. That's getting changed.

We also find the heat exchanger is tight between the AC condessor and the radiator, plus it's tiny ( Hence the high intake temps).

First thing is to build a Stainless steel dual Exhaust for this 07 Roush Nitemare, We exit the cats with true 2.5" Stainless and keep it a true dual all the way and make the bends smooth and use 2 large magnaflow mufflers, We keep the 2 x 2.5" stainless exhausts paired all the way to the back and use the Roush tip that came on the truck. There's no diameter changes or tight bends and the tips exit the same side ( A little import ish...I know) which looks way better in our opinion.

Ok Now the Upgraded exhaust for the 2007 Nitemare F150 is done , onto the next step.

The heat Exchanger:
We removed the small heat exchanger from the oven behind the AC Condenssor and build a whole new one. The stock one measured 1" thich, 4" high and 22" long.
The LHT Heat Exchanger is 2.3" thich, 5" high and 24" long and we place it right behind the grill to gt the coldest air possible. To make things look and flow a little better we replaced all the hose to Russel braided fabric hose with -12 AN fittings.

We also changed the pulley to make up for the additional flow from the exhaust system LHT custom built and the much cooler/denser air the Heat exchanger would provide. The pulley provides 2 lbs boost increase.
Next was some small modifications to the air box, the top section and tube looked good, but this bottle necked down into a 3"x4" hole at the bottom of the box.
We removed a larger section from bottom section and added sheet metal and shaped it into a open spot to acess cooler air.

Ok, Now it's ready to go back to the Dyno. The first thing we notice is the truck has a very smooth sound, very close to stock. The Magnaflow mufflers work very well while being straight though design.
After 8 pulls on the dyno and bringing the AF to 12to 1 all the way across it lays down 386whp and 453tq. That's a great increase without any drawbacks. One thing we noticed most was the intake temps never got over 175F degrees and the boost dropped 1lbs from stock. We have noticed boost drops from many years of intercooler Superchargers for Hondas , plus the free flowing dual exhaust will drop back pressure.

So this 2007 Roush Nitemare started at 334whp

With the LHT Custom Stainless dual exhaust
The LHT Custom heat exchanger
The smaller pulley
The LHT Modified air box

Gave us 52 WHP and 70 tq increase

We we're happy with the results and the truck now runs strong with no loss to drivabilty or gas mileage.
