    VSS Problems

    Hello LHT,
I have a B16a2 in my Civic and it threw me a CEL code number 17 which represents a failure for the Vehicle Speed Sensor. I took it like a man and bought another one. I installed it and it worked for about another week or so before it started freaking out and stopped. Again, it threw a CEL. I tried cleaning the wires and plugs that go into the sensor, and checked the fuse box for perhaps an electrical problem. Still, everything looks fine yet I'm getting a CEL and my speedometre doesn't work. I'd like to stop by for an estimate or quote or whatever on what is wrong with it. I don't know if it is the ECU or maybe I, coincidentally, picked up another faulty speed sensor (which is possible since I bought it used), So, yeah, I am looking for an estimate on fixing it or at least a diagnostic to determine what's wrong with it.

    Any help? Thank you guys!

The ECU has nothing to do with the VSS, it's most likley a ground.

Before you bring it to us, Check the thermostat ground. I'm pretty sure that will be your problem.

Where the thermostat is grounded out to? I'll check it out, hopefully I can find it after consulting the Helm's...What should I check for, though? Thanks
