    NA manifold Change??

John, thanks for the info when we spoke Thursday. I have another question, since I am going back to a NA motor , Edelbrock says that I have to grind the intake to fit the contour of the TB. Would you recommend changing the intake since I have to remove it? And wouldn't a aftermarket manifold have a better contour than I could do by hand, plus give better flow performance? Do you have a suitable replacement? If not, could you recommend one for a JDM B18c? This motor is coming from "H motors", so it has a few miles on it, should be a 96-97. Any other tips would be great since I'm dropping the SC and going NA I on a learning curve now.
Also do I need to keep the IAC motor installed on the TB, my old motor did not use one and ran fine.
Thanks again and hope to see you soon for tuning.

These are the parts I am swapping over from my old SC motor:
    525 injectors
    header
    65mm TB
    CA intake
    Adj cam gears
    P28 ECU w/S100

I would like to do a LHT400 kit, but right now I need to get this car running. I only had 5K on the old motor before it hydro-locked. The wife has never been happy with this car and even more so now! Calls it "the other woman" or "red headed step child". But I still love the car. Rocket on wheels weeeeeee!
The manifold looks like what I need for now, then I could add the turbo later.
    Thanks.

Hydro-locked, yikes! Did you completley submerge your filter or was it from splash?

I've been flip-flopping back and fourth from a SRI to a CAI, based upon fear of hydro-lock. But I just can't give up the throttle response from the CAI, so I put it back in.

I have extra splash shield protection from underneath so I'm ok with the CAI, the only thing that would hydro-lock would be a complete dump in water. I hope.

I would run a Skunk2 manifold, it will fit nice and give lots of room for power down the road. Give us a call on Monday and I will confirm we have some in stock. Other than that one of our 68mm Throttle bodies and your all set. The tune will be Ok apart from full throttle but that can be fixed once everythings together and ruuning.
I would recomend a new Timing belt and water pump before you install the motor, this is much easier on the floor before it in the car.

It was a ????, by the time I heard the water hitting the tire it was to late. As I started to turn toward the center of the road it died....literally! I always order a new by-pass valve at the beginning of the rainy season. I had not done so yet and we had a freak down pour here on the east coast (Space Center) last month. The rest is history. Advise.... always run with a by-pass valve.
John I'll call you Monday. I have been looking around for one. I already have the WP, TB & tensioner, and plug wires coming from Acura. Also changing the rotor and cap, is aftermarket (advance or NAPA) ok? I know you use the stock Honda ignition, is it worth adding the external coil for a NA motor? Also do you recommend the stock NGK plugs? And stock gap? I am looking for a new set of cam gears, mine are a little worn. I'm looking at Skunk2, what do you recommend? These are $190 plus shipping.

    oil cooler '96 GSR

My 96 GSr motor came today. When I pulled the intake off, preping for the skunk2 manifold, I noticed the oil cooler is not on this motor. The cooling tube doesn't have the inlets/outlets for the cooler hoses. Do I need to swap these over (from my 94) or was there a change in design? Also will it make a difference when I go turbo later?

I would run the factory Oil cooler, I still run this on my Type R and I have no Oil temp issues at all.
