    Step by Step , Civic - GSR -LHT400 Turbo

    Here's another LHT Step by Step 1996 Honda Civic EX getting a GSR motor and a LHT400 Turbo kit.
    You will see what goes into one our conversions, from the engine install, the turbo kit, tuning and all the TLC along the way.

    Of course AC and power steering will remain,we believe you can have power and everything else.

    OK, The motor has been removed and prepping the GSR to be installed is under way.
    The GSR motor is stock, however we're replacing the manifold to a more turbo friendly higher flowing manifold and a LHT 68mm throttle body.
    This is also the time the new Precision injectors to be installed.
    This is also a great time to replace the clutch for the added power, we go with a Clutch masters clutch and a Light weight LHT Flywheel.

    As well the engine and turbo, this is Civic is getting new suspension and wheels and tires.

    The 3" Stainless down pipe has been built from our mock up motor and re circ dump tube.
    There's lots of room for the AC compressor and the factroy AC fan.



    The full LHT 3" exhaust with a Salsh cut tip has just finished been tig welded ready for prep to install. Full 3" will allow the much faster spool from the turbo and more power at less boost.



    The Intercooler is also installed while keeping the bumper support for safety, The intercooler is supported in three spots. Intercooler are fairly heavy and need more then wire ties to hold them in place( We see it all the time...lol)
    We can now build the intercooler piping. The LHT aluminum Intercooler piping will be made to fit the car.


    While all this is going on , The 96 front end is getting updated to the 2000 front, here's the bumper and grill just dropped off from Honda. Also Black housing JDM headlights and front lip will compliment the whole look.

    The intercooler piping is built and fresh from the polishing machine. Notice the piping is bead rolled to prevent the pipes blowing off.
    We have built intercooler piping to support 60 PSI.



    The stock radiator looked like it had seen better days, it had a lot of gunk in the cores so as well the SPAL fan LHT supplies with the Turbo kit a LHT Aluminum radiator will be installed. It's polished to go with the Show look .


    The turbo and manifold is installed to build the drain.The LHT manifold is ceramic coated.The oil drain line is -10 Stainless steel braided hose with AN fittings, not only does this drain very well with no leaks is can easliy be serviced if needed.


    All the engine bay will be polished for a show look, the customer asked for other parts to be blue, here's the valve cover in blue.It's a little lighter than the blue silicone hoses so it will be redone before been installed.

    The Intercooler pipe is finsihed and installed, The LHT Radiator was polished and Samco hoses go with the color theme.


    The intercooler piping is built the fit the car perfect


    The intake is built ready for polishing, the K+N filter is postioned to get cold air which also helps to make power with less boost.

    The New valve cover will be installed tomorrow and the fluids changed in the engine and trans.
    The Precision injectors are already installed, we will use a Hondata S100 for the engine control as with all LHT builds.

    Here's the completed pictures, these were taken just before the car left for the body shop. It's getting the 2000 front end with black JDM black housing headlights and it going blue. The color is Lexus Ultrasonic blue.
