Civic Si Tuning?
I know their is no actual kpro released for this platform. However, I have a GReddy turbo kit and need better a form of tuning than the GReddy Emanage. There is a big Honda shop up in missouri who were able to wire in a kpro'd rsx ecu into the Civic. Here is the link: 07si running on Kpro with stock gauges - 8th Generation Honda Civic Forum
They're running dual ecu's, the stock one to perform dash and ac functions, and the kpro to manage the engine. They even deleted the MAF and DBW on the Civic Si and installed an RSX throttle body (throttle cable). Can you guys do this same kind of work on mine, and other cars?

What do you mean by can't be done yet? There is a link along with youtube videos of a dual ecu kpro system. It has been done. I just wanna know if LHT can do it here.

It's not really a question "If we can do it " , The question is more is it cost effective for us to do it .

Cost effective to do it for a whole market, or as a single job? Do you think you guys would be willing to give it a shot and do you know what its gonna cost to have it done on just my car then? I mean 2nrs of springfield were able to do it and were willing to do it for others who were interested, but they're all the way up in missouri.

phantomsi,
like john said, there are more cost effective ways to tune a turbo setup for your car. running dual ecu's and adding wiring is only going to make the car less reliable and more difficult to troubleshoot.

I don't think they are a scam. There have been a few people that have been in contact with them. They've got youtube vids and dyno sheets, and are on a couple of honda forums. That still isn't much proof, but I doubt they're fake. And how does the DBW make this car a lost cause? The WRX, STi, EVO, and Mazdaspeed3's all have DBW, yet they have fully tunable solutions. That's just not true.
I understand what you're saying. I don't know if you're familiar with the Honda Civic Si tuning scene, but there really is no better way to fully tune a turbo setup. There are a few proven options:
1. AEM FI/C - Piggyback, only tunes fuel and timing
2. Emanage Ultimate - the same as above but does a slightly better job.
3. AEM EMS - Cost 4000 dollars, Cost effective?
4. Dual ECU kpro - I'm trying to figure this one out. It hasn't been done yet, except by hasport and 2nrs.
I believe there are also options like MOTEC or Haltech, yet the prices on these also shoot through the roof.

lol thanks. I wasn't saying that dbw was better. I was only saying it really isn't whats causing the lack of tuning support. There really are so many cars out there with dbw that have fully capable tuning solutions.
Bump for some more input on attempting the dual ecu kpro setup from LHT.Last edited by phantomsi; 11-14-2008 at 05:43 PM.

Wouldn't it be easier to convert the pedals in the car and change the throttle body to a cable operated unit? They make the adapter for the manifold anyways, I'm sure John could figure out a way to get the cable to work with rsx pedals or something like that.
Don't bother giving me "rep", I won't return it and I think it is stupid.
