Factory oil cooler
John,
I'm putting a remote oil filter on my b18 sedan, just like the setup in the July issue of Honda Tuning. I will be monitoring the oil temp from this location too. My question is do I still need the factory oil cooler (on the motor) or can I add one in line later, like the HT install, if the temp runs high? The JRSC has you re-clock the cooler, but if I don't really need it I'll just take it off. The later c5 motors didn't have one so I was wondering what's different? Thanks, and keep up the good work.

For street use a oil is not really needed, but with forced induction it's a good idea to have one.The B18C1 only ran the OEM cooler in 1994 and 1995, 96 and newer didn't have it. The B18C5 always had the cooler, also remember Hondas never came with boost, I believe Honda would have ran a larger cooler if they did.
If your running a remote oil filter, why not run the line through a small cooler while your doing it.www.lhtperformance.net.
