TURBO CRX by LHT
Most folk have seen this CRX out at the track, It has been supercharger for a couple of years and ran low low 12s.
The customers decided it was time to go Turbo..Oh yea! We built him a custom equal length manifold which he sepent the hours polishing mounted to a GT35R "S" housing. You will see by the pictures that he wanted everything polished, this is not a primered bucket. Manifold. ![]() Of course we used a 3" down pipe and re circulated the dump so not to have the classic exhaust leak when the waste gate does it's job. ![]() Here's a shot of the one peice intercooler pipe from the turbo to the Intercooler. The intercooler is a Precision 600 hp sameone used on our Type R. ![]() Intercooler to the throttle body ![]() Here's thre finished product, the customer is re wiring the whole car hence the wiring looking scuffy. Hondata is used with precision 880 cc injectors. ![]() We didn't get pictures but a 3" LHT Custom aluminum exhaust was built for this CRX. The aluminum runs about 1/4 the weight for stainless. The dyno will be done soon, right now it's running a LHT base map at 7 lbs. |

I'm not a big fan of ram horns on street cars for the following problems..
They produce a massive amount of heat under the hood, Usually dis-coloring the paint on the hood and valve cover. They also tend to heat soak the radiator, making it work twice as hard to cool the engine.Oftern causing over heating when sitting in trafficor idling. There is a reason Honda install a large heat shield on there factory manifolds. This is not because they have too many heat shields and need to get rid of them some how. They contain the heat inside the manifold . Ramhorns do make power, but shorty manifold if built correctly make plenty of power , allow more room for AC, PS and fans. Thanks for the kind words guys. |
